Size and fit

L 21.5 cm × H 11 cm × D 1.5 cm.

Takes a passport, a phone, cards, keys and folded notes, and still zips closed.

Handmade, so allow a small variance.

Materials

Full-grain Namibian leather from free-range hides, coloured with soluble dyes. Cedar and Maple are smooth aniline; Mountain is a velvety nubuck.

Unlined, on purpose: nothing sits between you and the leather, so it stays light, supple and soft inside and out.

Hardware: YKK zip.

Caring for your bag

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and shake it out now and then. As it is unlined, keep pens and anything that could leak out of it.

If it gets wet, let it dry naturally, away from direct heat. Mountain is nubuck: brush it lightly rather than using creams.

Size questions, answered

Will my passport fit?

Yes, with room to spare. A UK passport is 12.5 × 8.8 cm; the pouch is 21.5 × 11 cm.

And my phone?

Most phones fit, up to about 17 cm long. It sits alongside your passport and a few cards.

How full can I fill it?

It's slim, 1.5 cm deep, so it holds the essentials flat: passport, phone, cards, keys and folded notes.

Will a boarding pass go in?

Yes, a printed A4 boarding pass folded into three.

Where does it go?

In a coat pocket, a Tote or a Crossbody. Small things stay together instead of sinking to the bottom of a bag.

FAQ

Travel Pouch questions, answered

Why is the Travel Pouch unlined?

To keep it light, slim and supple. With no lining, nothing sits between you and the leather, so you feel the full grain inside and out, and it softens with you from day one. It is also a good way to find out what Rowdy leather is really like before you choose a bag.

Will my passport and phone fit?

Yes. At 21.5 × 11 cm it takes a UK passport, most phones, cards, keys and folded notes, and still zips closed. At 1.5 cm deep it stays slim enough for a coat pocket.

Is the Travel Pouch a good gift?

Yes. It is our smallest piece, cut from the same full-grain leather as our bags and repaired for life like them. UK delivery is free.

Does the shade vary from pouch to pouch?

Slightly, yes. Every hide takes our soluble dyes a little differently, so the shade can vary a touch from one hide to the next and from one run to the next. It makes no difference to how the leather performs, feels or wears: it is the same full-grain leather, made to last and repaired for life. It is part of what makes each pouch your own.

How do I care for my pouch?

Very little is needed. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and shake it out now and then. As it is unlined, keep pens and anything that could leak out of it. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Avoid wipes, household cleaners and kitchen oils. Mountain is nubuck, so give it a light brush instead of creams.

When will my pouch arrive?

It depends on the shade, and we show which applies next to the button. In-stock pieces are dispatched from Bath within 3 to 5 working days. Made-to-order pieces are made for you in our Cape Town workshop and dispatched within 15 to 20 working days. UK delivery is free either way.

Do you offer free returns?

Call us on 01225 683 729 within 14 days of receiving your order. Bags must be unworn, with all tags attached, in their original dust bag and packaging. Exchanges for another shade are free: we send you a prepaid label. For a refund, return postage is paid by you.

How does repair for life work?

Faults in how your pouch was made are repaired for life. We arrange and pay for the repair with Tanis Brain, a qualified saddler at TPJB Leather in the UK, and post it back free; you cover the postage to us. Most repairs take up to two weeks. See what's covered.

The joy of something made by hand

No production line, no shortcuts. Your pouch is cut, stitched and finished at a workbench by makers who care how it turns out. Choosing handmade keeps a traditional craft alive, and puts your money into skilled hands.

  1. Cut by handEach piece is marked and cut from the hide with a knife and shears, chosen for its grain.
  2. Stitched at the benchSewn seam by seam by a skilled maker, the way leatherwork has always been done.
  3. Finished with careEdges, zip and stamped tab finished by hand, then checked before it leaves the workshop.
  4. Yours for yearsMade to be carried, softened and kept. If it ever needs fixing, we repair it for life.

When you buy handmade, you're not just buying a pouch. You're backing the people who made it.
